When is the best time to charter in the Mediterranean?

What's the typical itinerary length?

Seven nights is standard. Most routes string together two to three countries — for example Saint-Tropez to Corsica to Sardinia, or Athens to Mykonos to Santorini.

What VAT applies on Mediterranean charters?

France currently applies around 10% under commercial-yacht rules; Italy applies similar reductions for high-seas time; Croatia and Greece each apply their own rates. Your broker confirms the exact figure before contract signing.

How far in advance should I book?

For peak weeks (August in the Mediterranean, Christmas / New Year in the Caribbean) book 9–12 months ahead. For shoulder season or off-peak regions, 6–10 weeks is usually enough to secure a good yacht.

Is the crew included in the price?

Yes. The advertised weekly fee covers the yacht, full crew, and use of all on-board equipment. Crew gratuity (5–15% of the base fee) and running costs (APA) are separate.
